Delivering a debut look at the first single taken from their Santa Fe sessions — Jangus Kangus presents the video for "NM" that applies a silent films style to accompany the southwest stewed space rock. The first chapter in the Aesthetic Rebellion series, Jasmine Sankaran (previously known under the surname moniker of Sankaran) and company create their most evocative work yet through means of minimalism that mixes the mysteries of affinities with magical tropes of mysticism.

Sankaran concisely described the “NM” visual in the following synopsis:

A former queen seeks out a fortune-teller who may have ulterior motives.

The Timothy Burnham b/w video follows the Cactus Queen in flight from her fallen kingdom in a quest to find a suspect fortune teller/witch character who dwells along the Cosmic River. Guided by fairy tales and other assorted myths, Jasmine wades in the waters of reflection while singing a complicated love song to an omniscient boyfriend/ex (otherwise referred to in the song as the earth). A confrontation with the witch sees an exchange of a heart for privy view into the future as the song and visual chapter concludes with the witch's escaped beyond the Cosmic River. "NM" is experienced like a forgotten esoteric tale of ousted royalty and charlatans that square off in a modern western of dangerous liaisons with a generous helping of the supernatural mixed in.

Jasmine Sankaran elaborated on the making of the Jangus Kangus single “NM”:

I recorded these songs by myself in an unfamiliar town with a very limited sonic palate (a midi keyboard, electric and acoustic guitar, mic, and drum machine apps). It was sort of practice and experimentation for putting together Interesting Times with my bandmates. These songs are very close to my heart, certainly the most intimate work I’ve put out to date. I’m excited to bring this work into the light of day after so long in the darkness.
