Sounds. Visuals. Sensations. These are the ways in which we experience the most intimate individuals in our life. From the thought enlightening discourses enjoyed at the dusk laden entrances to night fall, to even more elaborate and clandestine sports of intercourse beneath a flickering star bright sparked sky that slowly sheds the sheets of night with the advent of the morning light; the connective attachment of desires has the ability to reach deep into another’s mind, body, spirit and heart. These advanced degrees of deep experiential encounters ignite all faculties of feeling that elevate our consciousness and soul to dazzling heights that can only be described in languages of love (or at the very least approximated in emulations/imitations/simulations thereof).
NYC by way of Tel Aviv artist R O N I encapsulates these aforementioned expressions and connections with the premiere of the single "Senses" and the self-directed visual (along with photography assists from Jordan Fuller, alongside Keith Ferreira). Sporting production from FortyForty, we are presented with the third installment from the four part visual album Crown. Bridging the boudoir bedroom stylings with elements of lavish lace and golden adornments; R O N I moves the song and visual's progression toward the shadow play shared between lovers where up-close exhibitions and expressions of bodies entangled, observed and worshiped take center stage. The artist's voice shines stripped and bare while the understated electronic arrangement undulates and coos heart racing rhythmic breaths and chopped vocal samples that embodies a lovers rock best reserved and savored for afternoon interludes, midnight maneuvers in the dark to morning trysts and other events of utter privy delights.
R O N I shared the following reflections on “Senses”:
The song taps into the deepest, most primal desires and urges that occur within sensuality and sexuality, that are specifically felt when one physically and emotionally interacts with another human for the first time.
Letting go of inhibitions, releasing impulses and finding courage to go deeper into yourself through sensations felt with another; this is what “Senses” is all about.
