Economy of art can speak in ample expressions and gestures. Minimalist arrangements and productions can convey big ideas in grand terms that can resonate with the same and/or greater impact than even the most lavish and grandiose exhibitions. Exemplary of this and more is Philadelphia band Canine 10 who announce their upcoming debut album Nonsense for FDH Records/Suicide Bong Tapes with a first look at the DIY surveillance camera video for the title track. From a full-length recorded by Dan Kishbaugh at Panther Audio; the quartet of Mickey Dennis, Dale Ensane, Jon Emanuel and Isacc Turnov embrace the time honored tradition of honing the less than a minute ballad of lightning struck dadaism. The song itself cuts through the confusion and calamities of our contemporary times, still seeking something resembling meaning in the free-fall flight where substance and solace becomes an ever elusive construct.

Canine 10's performance video oscillates between a fixed security camera and intimate portraits of the band in visceral action. "Nonsense" stands as something of a DIY punk time capsule of modern times, where a world devoid of logic is likened to a film comprised of bad actors, bad directors and so forth. The b/w visual depicts the four piece ringing their hands in aggravated fury and making distorted faces in response to life's current deficit of reason and rationale. "Nonsense" serves as a cathartic dose of levity to quell, as well as commiserate with our states of collective rancor in the face of toxic civics and a disconnected society where it feels like the trolls from the bottom base of the comments sections are running the entire world. "Nonsense" calls it like it is in a swift and fun form that is a plea for our universe to subscribe to a greater level of sense and sensibility.

The Canine 10 crew provided the following reflections on the inception on the title track “Nonsense” from their upcoming album of the same name:

“Nonsense” is the first track of our debut full length, also titled Nonsense for FDH Records/Suicide Bong Tapes. It is a short, straight-to-the-point expression of disillusionment and exasperation with life in its present form. Life is so abundant with nonsense, it practically becomes nonsense itself.

Here we strive to illuminate this point and possibly enliven the world by adding perhaps even a touch more
nonsense. Who knows? It just might work…

Canine 10’s debut album Nonsense will be available March 17 via FDH Records with vinyl arriving in April and on cassette via Suicide Bong Tapes.
