PREMIERE | Tuzeint, "No Mo"
From the Bludot Recordings crew, rising talent Enrique Toussaint — otherwise known as Tuzeint — presents a first listen to the mind-flipping autumn chill of "No Mo'". Mixed by fellow creative and collaborator Wet Baes and the fifth track for Bludot; the Mexico born/globe traveling artist dabbles in the conventions of loverly after eight ballads carefully blending and bending smoky hip hop lounge sections in an original arrangement. The brilliance in these unorthodox orchestrations and productions are the plays on the cognitive recognition of musical tropes, where the senses of established familiarity are just as soon challenged by unusual transitions and bridges in movements of the song that are unexpected in the most conscious provoking manners.
Tuzeint’s “No Mo’” is self-styled and fashioned like a subterranean, clandestine night club for lovers, friends and folks of discerning taste. The conceits of genre in Enrique’s approach serve as but spring boards and illuminated stepping stones toward pools and paths of elevated aesthetic opportunities (as well as myriad artistic liberties). The classic sentimental heart & soul baring croons and coos of serious emotions gets transformed into a breezy wind tunnel fun house of bewilderment adorned by expertly applied jazz pop adornments. “No Mo’” makes the moves to cut out the games and sport of hard-to-get for something real, exclusive, honest and unique. Toussaint sets the atmospheric switches to mimic in slow-motion the free fall descension into the arms of the greatest love fathomable. That interlude portion of the track lands the listener into a sequence of progressive brass polished fusions, as the track’s outro occurs on the heels of a fade out/fake out with a moody sustained drone complimented by a peppy melange of percussive beats. Tuzeint turns up the sincerity with a spectacular showcasing of courtship and courtesy that trades in the fleeting flights of fancy for something more substantial, lasting and worthwhile. Ultimately — Enrique has rewritten the book on how to compose a timeless love song.
Enrique Toussaint, aka Tuzeint, shared some insight on the inspirations for the new track:
“No Mo”’ is a track where I had the vision to make the best song I could in terms of production/musicality, I had in mind to do the most similar thing I could to D’Angelo combined with Tyler, the Creator and Solange.
This track expresses the desire to be better; it’s about the story of a man and a woman. He wants to stop playing games and become something more serious. This is actually a story opposite to my experience where ending my last relationship was a phase of constant change that took me to be where I am right now.
Truzeint’s debut EP will be available soon via Bludot Recordings.
