Love unlocks the parts of us that allow us to live fully. A surrender to something and someone that is outside of our own being and the scope of our own limited perspectives. Love opens up new worlds, allows us to connect and feel more whole. Love vanquishes the pangs of fear that holds us back and offers a way to find better places of consciousness and the upper echelons of empathy. Through love we find one another. We find ourselves. We find our communities. We grow. We heal. We learn. We become more engaged in our lives and experience an elevated sense of existence.

This is the core of the spirited new single from Joe George with the jubilant ode to joy, "Long As You Love". From the upcoming album Folk Cinema that follows Golden Afternoon and Beautiful Dreams; acclaimed gearhead Joe George Shadid presents what he refers to as lullabies for adults and a ballet of good dreams that gallops with the sentiments of being swept away into something that is larger than just the solitary self. The feeling of finding something so inexplicably beautiful rings out in the production, aided by Brian Deck, that swoops, dives, sails, ascends, swims and flies forward toward the greatest riches and wonders that supersedes the furthest edges of ecstatic imagination.

“Long As You Love” is a reminder to not hide your love away. To never learn not to love. An expression of what happens when you open up your heart and the enrichment that awaits in a world that is receptive to gestures of care and consideration. Joe George's guitar takes on a rhythmic pace, partnered with piano keys that run in step like lovers speeding to the horizon of an unrelenting infinity. "Long As You Love" is a musical moving portrait of how affection inspires others and how we are in turn transformed by taking leaps of faith into the arms of a shared and special bond. The song strolls, then skips before gleefully sprinting like there is no tomorrow in a weary world that needs more kindness, sweetness, and light. Joe offers a song to sing to your sweetheart, a song to sing to your babies, and their babies’ babies. To quote a wise tunesmith elder; “Love” is an evergreen song that celebrates the one thing in our world that there is just too little of.

Joe George shared some reflections on the expressive and amorous, “Long As You Love”:

This song is a straightforward, relatable message that I felt was important. When you show love, the music sounds better, the food tastes better, and the memories stretch further into the fabric of your experience.
