Ringing in the season by turning up hope for the new year — Athens, Greece pop icon Sarah P. announces the forthcoming 2020-slated album Plotting Revolutions with the debut of the tribute to refuge and self-care sanctuary via “Laying Low”. Sending out a song set to pick us all up from our seasonal affective state of hibernation; Sarah marks the passage of time by recognizing the growth that comes gradually through persistence, patience, planning, focus, meditation and moving beyond the rusted barbwire gates of the past.

From the Dionysian empowerment of Maenads, discovery and reclamation of identity on Who Am I, the rebirth of Free breaking out of the artist's former work in Keep Shelly in Athens — Sarah P. creates arts to help heal, soothe and reach greater inclusive levels of understanding. Openly exploring the vast landscapes of mental health via her imprint EraseRestart’s Instagram and through song; statements of self-care, insight and awareness resound like serene sirens that signal better ways to treat ourselves and those around us. The messages are relayed like rays of light that melt the ice of darkness, bringing an abundance of sunshine to pierce the guarded citadel walls of winter that works as a harbinger of a global movement and era of newfound enlightenment.

“Laying Low” sings to the weary huddled masses and all those struggling with one challenge or another. Armed with assuaging guitar strings, sparkling xylophone accompaniment, sweet yet pensive synths and sparse organic rhythms; Sarah extends support for the low-laying crowds that are consumed with the duress of today’s times. The endearing alliterative reminder of it’s not that time now stops works against the tendencies toward surrendering with thrown up hands to fatalism. The aura of hope is exalted and held up as a creative-cosmic sign that it gets better, shining a bright headlamp beam to show that the sometimes bleak tunnels of despair are not a dead end, but rather a subterranean subway pointed toward a greater station of beauty and love. Sarah P. raises up the downtrodden toward a greater echelon of realization that melts glacial prisons to set free anyone and all who have felt entombed and overwhelmed by adversities. “Laying Low” shines with a glow of love to inspire all who feel weak in spirit with a warm message that a new beginning and fresh start is nigh.

"She" bridges the infinite cosmic plane with the earthly terrestrial realm that exhibits the power and might of an omnipotent goddess. Sarah P. channels precision electronic rhythms in a beguiling arrangement of guitars and pan-Euro cinema style atmospheric effects that paint portraits of siren sages of infinite might, wisdom and vision. The character of "She" descends from the dimension of dreams in marigold garb with a song that points toward paths of the future and indicates an underlying romantic current of discovery and revelation like the clairvoyant events and narratives found within a fortune teller's orbuculum.

Sarah P. shared the following reflective poetic prose intro/prelude for Plotting Revolutions, "Laying Low" , “She” and other observations:

Softening the edges little by little, I start making songs stripped of anger and despair.

I sing my melodies to soothe those ears tired by the amaranthine noise.

That of course doesn’t mean that the resentment I feel for where we’re headed (as a whole) is gone — I just choose for it to not overpower me.

Not today, not tomorrow.

I will always speak my truth through my songs and write-ups — just for those who’re interested in hearing it.

We may be few, but we’re more than enough to start plotting revolutions for peace and eudaemonia.

One step at the time, one realization at the time.

For the moment we bide our time, but we’re awake.

Because the world (as is now) may not be an ideal place to raise children, but what matters is keeping on moving and striving for the best.

The future should be our only concern — no more faded memories of a romanticized past, no more dwelling on traumatic ordeals.

We become aware of our options going forward. We know which direction leads to that faint light that’s hopefully becoming stronger as we come closer.

We resist misanthropy and carelessness; we stand for kindness and inclusivity. Always and forever.

May the few start becoming buzzing swarms.

Plotting Revolutions will be available in 2020 via EraseRestart.
