Artist, auteur and impresario ETA has countered the obstacles and challenges of 2020 with the constructive and collaborative spirit. The former frontman of PASTHYPE is readying the releasing the Confluence score (co-composed by Sonoda, Tomemitsu, Zhao and Jett Kwong) with Athame Records, the Sexual Monk EP (collaborations with Carduus Azure, Jason Binnick and more) arriving at the end of autumn, along with variations on solo material. The motifs reside in the allowances of sacred spaces of sanctuary to seek and discover new degrees of understanding and affection that allow for an untold abundance of harmonious self-reconciliations. The music echoes in a succinct economy that resonates in the cadences that conjure up the sentiments of blissful serenity and a deep degree of solemnity at that.

Having shared a listen to the eponymous track earlier this past summer — ETA rolls out a debut listen to Healing to Do EP. The track illustrates the processes of building and caring for the temples of the body and soul. Atmospheric and sparse eastern instrumentation fill the breeze with earnest flute winds, delicate hair brushed guitar strums and rhythmic lyrical affirmations. The percussive and enchanted sparkle enhancements on the redux "Healing to Do (~~)" hones in on the subtle mysticism of the track with neatly applied southern hip hop beats amid bewildering chimes and prominent woodwinds arranged in a discotheque-ready fashion. The Holly BB remix showcases further elaborations and imaginings that traverses into the electronically imbued deep end of ambient, IDM and luxury lounge rearrangements. This rendering expounds upon the single's original infrastructure where we can hear the humble sincerity of the original transform from a devout tabernacle and into a palatial temple of meditations and reflections. “Healing” resonates like a handwritten moleskin handbook dedicated to the guidance toward a greater love for ourselves, others and our shared worlds.

ETA presents the Healing to Do EP with the following introduction:

Healing is the space we find and reclaim for ourselves in the time that passes. Like most, my interior life is just a small mirror of the collective journey and this past year’s been a culmination in my understanding of love, in all its various forms, self and other. Whatever innocence we lose in reaching higher consciousness through trauma, we reconcile in more harmonious sync with duality and capacity for abundance. So “Healing to Do (~~)” is kinda chopped and screwed to view certain experiences that inspired it from alternate perspectives. Allow it to have multiple truths at once and have fun with the hurt. And Holly BB’s scorpio season remix helps light a finishing flame for all these realizations to ash.
