Oakland's Everyone is Dirty has been working on something to the effect of 15 songs for their new upcoming album at their Donut Time Audio music house/record label/recording studio/compound in Oakland. With the team of Sivan, Chris, Jake and Tyler having recently added a Craigslist purchased cassette duplicating machine to their creative console arsenal; the quartet presents a debut listen to their upcoming Summer 19 cassingle "Body Material" b/w "Summer Rain". The Bay Area band's latest works proves that they remain committed to a style and mode that defies any act or measure of predictability and convention as their work bridges the worlds of the interior and environmental that stretches outward toward mind expanding celestial places.

In response to the wildfires that have been consuming California, “Body Material” plays like a psych-touched requiem that hovers between being of the material world and the ephemeral astral plane. The track witnesses the unrelenting blazes to surveying the scorched earth that ponders the nature of observing the menace of all the solstice shifts rapidly igniting and exhausting themselves to extinguished smolders in flashes of light, flame, smoke and soot.

"Summer Rain" is a sensual daydream that moves like the sinewy motion and crawl of a daddy long legs' web weaving creep. Everyone is Dirty blends their trademark fusions of sophisticated baroque with the collective creative pop chasms of futures past, where elements of recalled childhood fears are met at the intersection of adult desire in a song of innocence and experience. Aspects of alternative 90s radical radio pop are puréed in a blender of lullabies and raw carnal desires that connect the psychoanalytical tissue between the coming of age discoveries and understanding the myriad complexities of adulthood sexuality. Sivan and the crew stir up a hypnotic brew that operates on an axis of the surreal, strange and familiar that is delivered like a narrative of letting the unconscious and imagination run wild whilst observing an arachnid arthropod climbing the walls of one's bedroom.

Body Material started as a poem I wrote about a wildfire burning through a house.

There's no place

like a burning blaze

performing all the seasons before your eyes

ending with winter.

but why does summer sun gleam teeth so mean?

“Summer Rain”

Summer Rain started out as an ode to a spider. Growing up as an only child I spent a lot of time by myself staring at the wall. I was also contemplating the perverse weird interplay between girlhood and adulthood. From innocent to sexualized. And back again. I work as a film editor on The Crashpad Series, a local feminist queer porn website. So sexuality is on my mind a lot in a surreal kind of way.
