The multidisciplinary troubadour experiences the world differently. They absorb their realities around them like a sponge, exhibiting these testaments of experiences in unique and original ways. Understanding the varied components that comprise the whole of their art form are applied elementally, like a painter blending their brush strokes and palettes to illustrate impressionistic views of perspectives both new, yet vaguely familiar. The tunesmith chronicles view points on life, notions of the passing time, modeling vignettes that display the inner terrains of sentiments and thought flows like a projection of motion pictures broadcasted by musical beams of life on the buildings, street scenes, sidewalks and subways that surround us in the concrete metropolises we know all too well. The troubadour blends their conscious streams of inquisitive asking in nuances that revitalize the audiences’ own connection to themselves and their own respective planes of existence. These self defined roles of the creator contribute new orchestrations to embody the chambers, cryptic corridors and bustling boulevards that paint the portrayals of realities from the depths of consciousness that the audiences in question quite possibly have not yet considered until the moment of their meeting with the corresponding creative craft.

Today we celebrate the life and works of the late Zack Rosen, debuting the freewheeling wonder of “Bicycle” from the upcoming album SYZYGY that follows up last year’s Circles EP. Born Zachary Golub Rosen and raised in upper Manhattan, the self-taught artist provided bass for countless acts from a Turkish orchestra at Columbia University to longtime friend and collaborator (and producer of Zack's solo work as Syzygy and the album of the same name) Connor Grant's Tongues Unknown (also known for guitar work in Sean Ono Lennon's The GOASTT). An artist who battled schizophrenia and corresponding meds, Rosen’s hymns of light pierce through the deluge of diseases, mania, dysphoria and the minefield landscapes of psychological interiors that reach for a higher states of beauty and grace in echelons of the illuminated unknown.

Bicycle” harkens back to the heyday of singer songwriters, Brill Building incubators and the wrecking crews that contributed to today’s timeless canonical chart toppers. Zack Rosen rises to the ranks of the world’s favorite all but forgotten fallen icons, the bombast of a Buckley, careening through the idiosyncratic cults of Barrett, the nexus from Nick Drake to esoteric idols from the LA to Greenwich Village circuits. The New York artist pedals to a steady rhythmic jog, spinning reflections like a whirling top at the peak of a mountain, traversing the roads and inclines traveled and the conundrum of returning to a previous point on a route of perpetual movement. Rosen’s work moves with the momentum of forward gears turning toward the mysteries of the future, questioning the manners and means of life’s journeys while trying to plot landmarks on the maps whilst moving in the imperfect tense. “Bicycle” is conducted with the sincerity of a power pop morning bike ride anthem, exploring the twists and turns of winding lanes and rocky roads that climb the inclines of mystic hills toward elusive destinations.
