Blues, rhythms & reflections by Rozzi

Luminaries of the popular arts & crafts hone their visions & works through a barrage of influences and the incendiary sparks of their own inspirational volition. Los Angeles-based artist Rozzi in recent years has been sharpening a style and sound from collaborations with some of the top in the game (Kendrick Lamar, Pusha T, et al) to presenting the world their r&b bombast of Berry (Deluxe). Piano lead power ballads like "How'd You Learn to Lie Like That" cut to the human confrontational core of interpersonal dissonance, to exploring social dynamics in the public spheres of soirees and other implicated entanglements of avoiding awkward chemistries on the ode to staying in for the evening on "I Can't Go to the Party". Summer romances that turn into something beyond the extent of the seasons are expounded upon in “June”, crooning about connections of the kismet variety on the PJ Morton collab “Past Life”, further singing the pop gospel of finding someone special like no other on the elated amour of “fflow”.

Human connections are examined with citrus similes on "Tangerine", tackling the connective complications on the catchy "Consequences" in tandem with Nile Rodgers, to missives on the earnest expressions of extreme emotions with "Mad Man", to smoky strummed sentiments on the title track "Berry". Fierce attachments and hearts on fire run wild on "If I'm Going to Love You", the maudlin meditations of "I Guess I'm the Bad Guy Now", basking in the sobering aftermath feels of "Rock Bottom", to rendering a stripped down electric organ take on Alanis Morissette's eternal "Hand in My Pocket", to coasting through the stratosphere of "Clouds". Constructs of thoughts, sentiments and time jog about the mindful "Hymn for Tomorrow", reflecting on the ambiguity of life's unknowns on "I dk", before concluding with the minimalist choral take on "I Guess I'm the Bad Guy Now - Scott's Version" that sends the record upward to the infinite rafters of the heavens. Ariana Grande & Liz Gilles’ Halloween “Best In Show” remakes

I think these Instagram videos deserve awards. The commitment?! I’m always a massive Ariana fan but her sense of humor really pushes me over the edge. She and Liz absolutely kill me in these remakes. I think they remind everyone that it is, in fact, cool to give a lot of fucks.

Play It As It Lays by Joan Didion

I just finished this masterpiece. It read like an old movie - something my cinephile boyfriend would make me watch instead of the same Office episode I’ve seen fourteen times already. But in Joan’s hands, the story felt more vivid and devastating than any film could.

KNWLS Brown Bone Corset Tank Top

Via SSENSE.

I’m sorry that this is a million dollars but this is what I want to wear to every holiday party this year. I tend to live in corsets and Charlotte Knowles always makes the sexiest shapes.

Poog podcast

All I want to do is talk about skin care and laugh so Poog was made for me. I’m really intimidated by both Kate Berlant and Jacqueline Novak and I find that listening to them while I do Tracy Anderson in my kitchen really makes me sweat — in a good way!

Who’s The Hottest Girl In Our Grade Tik Toks

This trend is my favorite. It’s kind of like Bama Rush Tok — I have nothing to do with it and I’m obsessed. I love when the kids are nervous, I love when they’re not. I love when there’s a love connection, I love when there’s not. I can’t stop watching.
