Following the frequencies of Indii G.
Ushering in the rites of spring is Indii G. who has been making curious garage pop blended with bedroom pop poetics. Readying the Riverhouse EP for Epitaph, the Louisiana multi-hyphenate explores the connection between the bombast power chord cadence and the candid heart-torn bedroom opéra romantique. Fresh off releasing the single “Dancing With Your Silhouette”, G. explores the pangs of amours in the pursuits of truths and communications of the heart.
The sport of love and its corresponding components of hurt, betrayal, loss and reconciliation play out in a motion to move closer toward a loved one. "Silhouette" wades into the dissonant deep of feeling distant, yearning to establish something more tangible and visceral than dancing with the idea, notion or vapor of what could otherwise be in expressions for a more meaningful connection. Following on the heels of “Summer Nights” and “Hampton”, Indii G. makes overtures of desires for something more substantial and powerful beyond the temporal.
Riverhouse intimately rocks toward the establishment of building a solid foundation, adapting journal ripped expressions of affection and endearment that allude toward an ineffable state and place of grace. Indii G. navigates emotions of vulnerability and the sincere drive of volition that alludes toward those sacred and kindred places of the soul that strive for something beyond the social media timeline trajectories of posturing and flexes. Outer space
I’ve always had a love for anything space related. The cosmos is full of so many wonders, the thought of infinity gets the blood pumping. I have memories as a kid of going to the NASA space center and wanting to be an astronaut. Obviously I grew up and realized how crazy that’d actually be. But it’s nice to dream about what could be out there.
Gym days
Every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday morning, my girlfriend and I go to the gym to work out/exercise. We connect our AirPods to the same phone, throw on one of our favorite playlists and drown out the world as we pump some iron. It’s a great time to clear my head, maybe release some frustration and it doesn’t hurt to stay in shape.
Rocket League
The best way for me to wind down after a busy day is a session of some high level Rocket League. It’s a great outlet for my competitive nature. It has also created some pretty frustrating moments and that’s the beauty of the game. The roller coaster of emotions. I’m currently trying to get to grand champ, and I’d like to live stream the journey if YouTube ever gives me my channel back…
Drinking water
The source of life itself. I used to not drink a lot of water but recently I’ve been upping my minimum to at least 80oz a day. Complete game changer. Stay hydrated, folks.
Naruto: Shippūden, Episode 82
If you know, you know. It’s the episode where Shikamaru plays a game of shogi with his dad after Asuma’s sensei was killed. I grew up watching Naruto and this is maybe the most powerful and touching moment in the show, especially for me growing up without a dad or a strong father figure present. My girlfriend and I recently re-watched the series and that part still hits me the same.
